Abstract

Reaction of (±)-(2-chlorophenyl)(2-dimethylphosphinophenyl)methylphosphine with sodium (2-dimethylphosphinophenyl)methylphosphide is completely stereoselective giving (R*,R*)-1,2-bis[(2-dimethylphosphinophenyl)methylphosphino]benzene, (R*,R*)-1; as confirmed by a crystal structure determination of cis-α-[CoCl₂{(R*,R*)-1}]PF₆.
