Diastereoselective formation of disilver(I) double helicates with chiral 2,2′:6′,2″:6″,2′′′-quaterpyridines
Abstract
Chiral 2,2′:6′,2″:6″,2′′′-quaterpyridines bearing fused chiral groups in the 5,6- and 5′′′,6′′′-positions are prepared; these ligands preferentially form P or M dinuclear double helicates upon coordination to silver(I), one of which has been structurally characterised.
