Enhanced lability of α-silyl groups in thiophenetricarbonylchromium(0) complexes

Abstract

Deprotonation of 2-(trialkylsilyl)-5-methylthiophenetricarbonylchromium(0) complexes 8ae with ButLi resulted in intermolecular silyl transfer reactions which generated, inter alia, 2-methyl-3-(trialkylsilyl)thiophenetricarbonylchromium(0)9 and 3,5-bis(trialkylsilyl)-2-methylthiophenetri-carbonylchromium(0). The bulky silanes 8d, e were stable under these conditions.
