Preparation of porous chromia-pillared titanoniobate

Abstract

The first chromia-pillared titanoniobate is prepared through the reaction of a Cr(OAc)3 aqueous solution with a colloidal suspension of layered tetramethylammonium titanoniobate followed by calcination in N2; the resultant material is porous with a surface area of 122.4 m2 g–1, a narrow pore-size distribution and thermal stability beyond 500 °C.
