Solid-state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance investigations of molecular dynamics in crystalline benzenetricarbonyl-chromium

Abstract

Lineshape changes in the solid-state 13C NMR spectrum of [Cr(η6-C6H6)(CO)3] over the temperature range 203–393 K have been shown to be consistent with reorientation of the Cr(CO)3 unit (with free energy of activation estimated to be 70 ± 5 kJ mol–1), and in-plane reorientation of the benzene molecule.
