Addition of MeMgSnBun3 to terminal enyne; preparation of geometrically pure 2-substituted 1-lodo-1,3-dienes

Abstract

The title iododienes have been prepared from 6-phenylhex-3-en-yne by the addition of methylmagnesiumtributyltin, followed by reactions of stannylmagnesium intermediate Awith appropriate electrophiles and of the resulting alkylated stannylidiene Bwith iodine.
