Facile synthesis of ε-caprolactam by cyclodehydration of 6-aminocaproic acid on adsorbents

Abstract

ε-Caprolactam is readily synthesized by refluxing a suspension of 6-aminocaproic acid adsorbed on zeolite, silica gel, or alumina in toluene.
