Abstract

The Novel 3,3′-diphospha-1,1′-biphospholyl compound P₄C₅Bu^t₆, obtained by oxidative coupling of two P₂C₃Bu^t₃ anions, has been synthesised and its open structure is contrasted with the cage compounds P₅C₅Bu^t₅ and P₆C₄Bu^t₄(two isomers).
