Chemistry of phosphorus selenide anions: synthesis and structure of P2Se82– and [Fe2(CO)4(PSe5)2]2–

Abstract

Reaction of P4Se4 with soluble polyselenides generates the first isolated phosphorus selenide anion, P2Se82–, which further reacts with an excess of Fe(CO)5 to generate the novel cluster [Fe2(CO)4(PSe5)2]2–, which has been characterized by crystallography.
