Preparation of the first fluorinated alkenyl isocyanide F2C[double bond, length half m-dash]CF–NC by flash vacuum pyrolysis of [Cr(CO)5(CN–CF[double bond, length half m-dash]CF2)]. Crystal and molecular structure of [Cr(CO)5(CN–CF[double bond, length half m-dash]CF2)] at 125 K

Abstract

Trifluorovinyl isocyanide, F2C[double bond, length half m-dash]CF–NC, is obtained by flash vacuum pyrolysis of [Cr(CO)5(CN–CF[double bond, length half m-dash]CF2)] at 240°C and identified by spectroscopic methods; the structure of the chromium complex [Cr(CO)5(CN–CF[double bond, length half m-dash]CF2)] has been elucidated by X-ray crystallography.
