Reaction of K[(η3-C7H7)Fe(CO)3] with [(1,5-η4-C8H12)Pd(η5-C5H5)]BF4 gives the title compound which is the first case of a bridging cycloheptatrienyl metal–metal bonded complex having an uncoordinated double bond in the ring and detectable low-temperature limiting 1H and 13C NMR spectra.
