A one-step synthesis of alkenyl-, dienyl- and trienyl-idene complexes of chromium and tungsten carbonyl

Abstract

Alkenyl-, dienyl- and trienylidene-chromium and tungsten complexes (CO)5M[double bond, length half m-dash][C(OMe){CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CH-(CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CH)n-R}][n= 0, 1, 2] are produced in one step by photolysis of M(CO)6[M = Cr, W] in the presence of 2-propyn-1-ol derivatives H–C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CC(H)(OH)[(CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CH)n–R] and methanol.
