The synthesis of a conjugate of progesterone with Lucifer Yellow VS: a potential probe for fluoroimmunoassay of steroids

Abstract

The synthesis of a conjugate of 11α-hydroxyprogesterone with the 1,3-dioxobenz[de]isoquinoline-5,8-disulphonate Lucifer Yellow VS is reported. Preliminary evaluation of fluorescence indicates that the working limit in immunoassay will be solutions of ca. 2 nmolar concentration.
