Reaction of [FeCo(CO)7(µ-CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CRH)](R = H or Ph) with dimethylphenylphosphine. Synthesis and structure of [FeCo(CO)4(µ-CO)-(PMe2Ph)2(µ-CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CH2)], an electronically unbalanced iron–cobalt complex

Abstract

The reaction of [FeCo(CO)7(µ-CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CRH)](R = H or Ph) with PMe2Ph leads to complexes [FeCo(CO)6(PMe2Ph)(µ-CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CPhH)] and [FeCo(CO)5(PMe2Ph)2(µ-CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CRH)]. The disubstituted compounds contain two PMe2Ph ligands linked to iron and two bridging ligands, carbonyl and vinyl. The structure of [FeCo(CO)4(µ-CO)(PMe2Ph)2(µ-CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CH2)] has been solved by X-ray diffraction methods.
