Abstract

The µ-σ,η²-allenyl complex Ru₂(CO)₆[µ-σ,η²-PhCCCH₂](µ-PPh₂) reacts with diphenylacetylene to afford a novel tetranuclear cyclopentadienyl complex [Ru₂(CO)₄{µ-σ(C,O),η⁷-C₅MePh₂(C₆H₄)(O)}(µ-PPh₂)]₂via allenyl–alkyne coupling: the structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction.
