The characterisation of anion-vacancy ordering in the oxide ion conductor (Bi2O3)1-x(Y2O3)x by 89Y n.m.r. spectroscopy

Abstract

89 Y Magic-angle sample-spinning n.m.r. spectroscopy has been used to show that Y3+ ions in cubic, fluorite-like (Bi2O3)1-x(Y2O3)x solid solutions are associated with a pair of anion vacancies along <111>.
