µ3-Arsenic trimolybdenum clusters with oxygen and sulphur bridging the transition metals

Abstract

[(η5-C5H5)Mo(CO)3]2(1) reacts with grey arsenic in boiling water-saturated toluene to produce the new trioxocluster [µ3-As(µ-O)3{(η5-C5H5)Mo}3](3), while reaction of As4S4, (1), and grey arsenic under the same conditions yields [µ3-As(µ-O)2(µ-S){(η5-C5H5)Mo}3](4); X-ray structure analyses were performed for both products.
