Direct evidence for the participation of extrinsic surface sites in the enhancement of photocatalytic activity of luminescent zinc sulphide catalysts
Abstract
The extrinsic surface states due to sulphur clusters injected by mechanical grinding of a luminescent ZnS catalyst, acting as photo-produced hole-traping sites, play a decisive role in the photocatalytic activity of ZnS for cis–trans isomerization reactions of but-2-ene.
