Influence of surface structure on the interaction of allyl iodide with MoO3 catalysts

Abstract

Interaction of allyl iodide with MoO3 catalysts presenting different crystal habits shows that acrylaldehyde formation is correlated with the presence of the (100) MoO3 face; consequences of this result on the mechanism of propene oxidation are discussed.
