Out-of-plane trigonal co-ordination in a zerovalent palladium complex

Abstract

A complete structural determination has shown that the [Pd{N(CH2CH2PPh2)3}] complex displays an unusual out-of-plane trigonal co-ordination; the title compound undergoes oxidation with alkyl iodide to form five-co-ordinate methyl and ethyl palladium derivatives.
