The first example of a µ412-acetylide dianion: preparation and X-ray structure of Ru4412-C2)(µ-PPh2)2(CO)12

Abstract

Carbonylation of the diphenylphosphinoacetylide complex Ru55-C2PPh2)(µ-PPh2)(CO)15, (2), results in cleavage of the P–C[triple bond, length half m-dash]C bond and formation of Ru4412-C2)(µ-PPh2)2(CO)12, (3), shown by an X-ray structure to contain the novel η12-acetylide dianion bridging two Ru2(µ-PPh2)(CO)6 units.
