Oxygen-18 labelling studies on the biosynthesis of citreoviridin

Abstract

Incorporation of [1-13c, 18O2]acetate and 18O2 gass into citreoiridin by cultures of Penicillium pulvillorumestablished the origin of the oxygen atoms and provided stereochemical and mechanistic information on the biosynthetic pathway.
