A monomeric molybdenum thiolato-complex with a chelated η6-arene ligand. The preparation and structure of [Mo{(η6-Ph)PhC6H3S-2,6}(SC6H3Ph2-2,6)(CO)]

Abstract

Sodium 2,6-diphenylbenzenethiolate react with [MoBr2(CO)4] to give the chelated η6-arene complex [Mo{(η6-Ph)PhC6H3S-2,6}(SC6H3Ph2-2,6)(CO)](1) in good yield, the X-ray crystal structure of which reveales a distored ‘piano-stool’ geometry.
