Determination of trace heavy elements in air particulates by differential-pulse polarography

Abstract

The optimum conditions for the pulse polarographic determination of Cu, Ti, Pb, Cd and Zn in air pollution particulates were investigated. The determination of these elements together by means of a single polarogram was achieved. Having experimented with various electrolytes at different pHs, it was concluded that the best medium was 0.02 M EDTA + 0.2 M sodium acetate solution at pH 2.
