A biomimetic synthesis of (±)-corydalic acid methyl ester from corysamine

Abstract

(±)-Corydalic acid methyl ester (1), a 3-arylisoquinoline alkaloid, was efficiently synthesized from the corresponding protoberberine alkaloid, corysamine (5)via a biogenetic route.
