Tin-119 nuclear magnetic resonance study of trimethylstannylhydrazines

Abstract

δ(119Sn) and 2,3J(SnSn) data for trimethylstannylhydrazines (Me3Sn)4–nN2Men(n= 0–2) as well as of (Me3Sn)3N2Ph are reported. The 2,3J(SnSn) values appear to be highly sensitive to lone-pair interactions, with 2J(SnSn) covering a large range (>500 Hz). The temperature dependence of the 119Sn parameters indicates changes in the population of the contributing conformations.
