A stable dioxygen species on silver single crystals and model silver catalysts

Abstract

Substantial amounts of a dioxygen species which is stable at room temperature can be generated at a clean silver surfaces; the concentration of this species is relatively insensitive to surface structure, but it can be enhanced by the presence of subsurface oxygen.
