Ring–disc electrodes. Part 20.—A general procedure for deducing the faradaic component of a disc-current transient from a ring-current transient

Abstract

A general procedure is presented for deducing the Faradaic component of a disc current from an observed ring-current transient. The procedure has been tested experimentally using disc-current transients which consist of linear ramps of various rates and half cycles of both sine and square waves. In all cases good agreement is found between the applied disc current and that deduced from the ring-current transient.
