Thermochemistry of metal complexes with the rigid ligand 1,3,5-cis,cis-triaminocyclohexane

Abstract

The heats of formation nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes with the title ligand have been determined by microcolarimetric techniques, and the corresponding entropy values have been obtained by the appropriate combination with the reported free-energy data. Comparison with complexation of more flexible triamines emphasizes the role of the rigidity of the ligand in co-ordination to metal ions, from a thermodynamic standpoint.
