Trialkyl phosphite addition to the bis(benzene)-iron(II) and -ruthenium(II) dications: catalysed hydrolysis to dialkyl phosphites

Abstract

Phosphite addition to [(C6H6)2M]2+(M = Fe, Ru) yields cyclohexadienyl phosphonium and phosphonate adducts that catalyse the conversion of excess of phosphite into HP(O)(OR)2 and RP(O)(OR)2.
