Palladium-catalysed reaction of tributyltin hydride with acyl chlorides. A selective route to aldehydes

Abstract

In the presence of catalytic amounts of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium, tributyltin hydride rapidly and selectively reduces acyl chlorides to aldehydes under very mild conditions.
