Hydrogenolysis of unsaturated alcohols; hydrocyanation and hydrogenation of acetylenes catalysed by pentacyanocobaltate(II)

Abstract

Unsaturated alcohols containing a double or triple bond are catalytically hydrogenolysed to olefins, and terminal acetylenes are hydrocyanated or hydrogenated to saturated secondary nitriles or olefins under mild conditions.
