(+)-6-Methylenespiro[4.4]nonan-1-one (6) and (–)-spiro[4.4]non-6-en-1-one (10) were prepared by synthetic methods establishing the absolute configuration of each, and anti-octant behaviour was observed in the c.d. spectra of (10).
