Tetrameric cyano-rhenium complexes with sulphur and selenium bridges: preparation and X-ray crystal structures of (Ph4P)4[Re4S4(CN)12]·3H2O and (Ph4P)4[Re4S4(CN)12]·3H2O

Abstract

The anions [Re4(µ3-S)4(CN)12]4– and [Re4(µ3-Se)4(CN)12]4– each contain a tetrahedron of Re atoms held together by short Re–Re bonds, with one triply bridging S or Se atom per face of the tetrahedron.
