Circular dichroism of chrysanthemyl derivatives; a chiroptical dichotomy between 1,3-dialkylcyclopropanes and their 2,2-dimethyl relatives
Abstract
Chiroptical measurements in the chrysanthemate series show that 1,2,2,3-tetra-alkyl cyclopropanes can have the same chirality as, yet Cotton effects opposite to, those reported for the corresponding 1,3-dialkylcyclo-propanes: a possible explanation is mentioned.
