Use of selective 1H relaxation in a 13C nuclear magnetic resonance study of (trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine-NNNN′-tetra-acetato)hydroxothallium(I)

Abstract

A 13C n.m.r. study at 270 K indicates the formation of [TlI(cdta)OH]4–, cdta =(cyclohexane-1,2-diamine-NNNN′-tetra-acetate)4– from [TlI(cdta)]3– at high pH, and the addition of small amounts of paramagnetic [MnII(cdta)]2– aids in the assignment of an axial structure by selectively broadening the two axial of the four observed resonances from the acetate CH2 groups.
