Synthesis of olefins by desulphuration of αβ-unsaturated phenyl sulphones

Abstract

Reductive cleavage of αβ-unsaturated phenyl sulphones with aluminium amalgam or LiAlH4–CuCl2 provides an attractive synthetic route to a variety of olefins in high yields.
