Biosynthesis of the 3,4-dihydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-5-phenylvaleric acid residue of neoantimycin
Abstract
The significance of the incorporation of [2-14C] phenylalanine, [1-14C]phenylalanine, [Me-14C]methionine, and [2,3-3H]propionate into the antibiotic neoantimycin is discussed in relation to the biosynthesis of the 3,4-di-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-5-phenylvaleric acid residue.
