The 121Sb Mössbauer effect in chloride, bromide, and iodide complexes of antimony(III)

Abstract

The antimony-121 Mössbauer parameters for a number of complex antimony halides are reported. The antimony(III) sites all have large negative shifts and all except the antimony(II) site in (NH4)2SbBr6 have small positive quadrupole interactions. These results are discussed in terms of known structures and in terms of the use of antimony bonding electrons.
