Cu(II)/Cu exchange reaction in sulphate electrolyte

Abstract

The results of an investigation of the Cu(II)/Cu exchange in sulphate electrolytes are reported. At the equilibrium no evidence could be found for the participation of Cu(I) as an intermediate in the overall reaction. The reaction clearly involves the participation of adspecies and is also complicated by adsorption of the anion.
