2-Isoxazoline derivatives. Part IV. Bromination of some dihydro-acenaphtho[1,2-d]isoxazole derivatives

Abstract

Bromination of 9-alkyl-6b,9a-dihydroacenaphtho[1,2-d]isoxazoles with N-bromosuccinimide gives complex mixtures, the 1′- and 9a-monobromo-derivatives being the main products. With the 9-ethyl and 9-propyl compounds two diastereomeric 1′-bromo-derivatives are obtained, whose stereochemistry is discussed. Structural assignments are based on spectral analysis and chemical evidence.
