Thermolysis of N-O-nitrophenyl- and N-2,4-dinitrophenyl-α-amino-acids

Abstract

The products of thermolysis of two 2,4-dinitrophenyl- and six o-nitrophenyl-α-amino-acids have been investigated. Benzimidazolone and derivatives thereof were isolated in four of the reactions investigated and the mechanism of these conversions is discussed. In general the products are different from those reported for photochemical decomposition.
