The synthesis and reactivity of isocyanide compounds of zerovalent platinum

Abstract

The zerovalent platinum compounds containing isocyanide, (Ph3P)2Pt(CNBut)2 and (Ph3P)2Pt(CNBut)-(CO), have been characterised, the former undergoing oxidative addition reactions to yield cationic species of the type (Ph3P)2(ButNC)2PtR+.
