Crystal structure and conformation of 1-phenyl-4,4-dimethoxyphosphorinan

Abstract

The title compound is shown by X-ray analysis to have a chair conformation with an axial phenyl substituent; the 1H n.m.r. spectrum is consistent with one preferred conformation in solution, and 31P and 13C chemical shifts are also reported.
