Solvent effects in the acid-catalysed hydrolysis of ω-diazoacetophenones in aqueous dioxan

Abstract

Rate constants and activation parameters for the hydrolysis of ω-diazoacetophenone and m-fluoro-ω-diazoacetophenone have been measured in water–dioxan mixtures containing 0·1M-perchloric acid. The mechanism is discussed.
