Single-crystal polarized spectrum and paramagnetic anisotropy of five-co-ordinate square pyramidal nickel(II) complexes

Abstract

The single-crystal polarized spectrum of [(Ph2MeAsO)4NiNO3]+NO3 has been recorded at 300 and 77 K. Principal magnetic susceptibilities of single crystals have been obtained in the temperature range 300–90 K. These properties have been interpreted within a crystal-field framework. Care has been taken not to report a unique ‘ best ’ fit but by the extensive use of mapping procedures to identify regions of fit between the theoretical and experimental quantities.
