Oxomolybdenum(IV) and oxovanadium(IV) complexes with a tridentate Schiff base
Abstract
The Schiff base obtained from 2,6-diacetylpyridine and aniline forms oxomolybdenum(IV) complexes of the general formula MoO[py(anil)2]X2[py(anil)2= 2,6-bis-[1-(phenylimino)ethyl]pyridine; X = Cl or Br). The presence of oxomolybdenum(IV) species has been confirmed by comparison with the corresponding oxovanadium(IV) derivatives.
