Metal–triketone complexes. Part I. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectral study of the keto–enol equilibria in triketone ligands

Abstract

Assignments of the 1H n.m.r. signals in the three triketones, heptane-2,4,6-trione, 1-phenylhexane-1,3,5-trione, and 1,5-diphenylpentane-1,3,5-trione are given. The changes in intensity of selected signals with both solvent and temperature are used to calculate the tautomeric content of the solutions.
