The syntheses of bromo-, chloro-, and fluoro-disilanes are reported, and the preliminary identification of 1-bromo-1-chlorodisilane and 1-bromo-1,1-dichlorodisilane. The 1H and 19F n.m.r. parameters of these and related compounds are reported and discussed.
