Reactions between phosphorus trifluoride and primary amines

Abstract

Phosphorus trifluoride reacts with primary amines, RNH2, (R = Me, Et, Bun, or But) to give (alkylamino) difluorophosphines, RNH·PF2(R = Me, Et, Bun, or But), bis (alkylamino)difluorophosphoranes, (RNH)2·PF2H (R = Me, Et, or Bun), and bis(alkylamino) fluorophines, (RNH)2·PF(R = But).
